This morning one of the girls who works at the cafe I go to every morning, who’s only 17, stopped to tell me that whenever I’m in the cafe, she always feels really calm.

That one small act of kindness and courage, that small act of sharing with me, made my day.

There is a line in A Course in Miracles that reads “If you are wholly free of fear of any kind, and if all those who meet or even think of you share in your perfect peace, then you can be sure that you have learned [the lesson of this Course].”

Isn’t that an incredible thing to aim for? That everyone who comes into contact with you, or even thinks of you, feels peaceful? How much joy would you feel if you brought peace and calm to everyone you interacted with?

I have a long way to go before I get to that place, but hearing that this morning motivated me even more to keep releasing all the judgements that pop into my head throughout the day. The more present we can be, the less we judge, the more peaceful we and everyone around us feels.
