I don’t know about you, but I have a tendency to be a bit controlling when it comes to, well, life. I’m what I like to call a recovering control freak. I have control issues. That means that basically, I have less freak outs than I used to.
This week I’ve been focusing really hard on work and creating and my clients and haven’t spent as much time on me. When it came to my weekly check-in with my Miracles Now oracle cards, the card above is the one I pulled.
Funny, I hadn’t thought I was being so controlling this week, but when I took the time to think about it, my need to want things a certain way was definitely there.
When we try to control the outcome of a situation, we inevitably end up blocking the flow of the Universe which sends us way out of alignment. We start to get anxious, analysing every little thing to do with our issue in case we missed something, or to verify if things are going to ‘go our way’. We start chasing people who don’t need chasing up and get frustrated that everything is moving too slowly in case we somehow miss a window of opportunity.
Whilst we’re transfixed on our window of opportunity, an even better one is passing us right by.
It’s really hard for me to let go of the need to control the outcome, so I love that this card gives it to me straight – Have FUN! Act like a kid! What better way to distract yourself from controlling something than having so much fun you completely forget what you were supposed to be worrying about?!
If you’ve been holding on to something and trying to control it, this is your permission to let it go and go have some fun. Remember what you used to enjoy as a child. Get some adult colouring books, go swimming, go dancing, go play with your kids on the swings at the park – remind yourself what it’s like to laugh! Either the issue will still be there for you to worry about when you get back with a fresh perspective, or it will have resolved itself.
What does your inner child like doing? I’m going to take my dogs for a walk and watch them chase each other round and go swimming in the pond 🙂
