It’s part of my job to reach out to people who might not necessarily know they need help, and somehow guide them back to themselves. This is no easy feat. How do you identify your life could be infinitely better, if you don’t know you have a problem?
When I was younger, my mum’s best friend’s son and I were best friends too. We always hung out and got on like a house on fire. As far as I knew he was happy as Larry. Then one day he went for an optometrist appointment and, turns out he needed glasses.
Funny thing – he was nearly blind.
As he didn’t know any different, he thought that what he saw around him was the best there could be. Turns out he was missing out on so much more and when he got his glasses a whole new world opened up to him.
If you don’t know what you’re missing, how do you know you’re missing it?
Number one, if you’re reading this, there is a part of you that knows there’s something more out there for you anyway.
Number two, if you’re not waking up and smiling, there’s something more out there for you.
Number three, there’s always something better out there for you.
Being in touch with your feelings and in flow with your intuition gives you a completely different perspective on how you move from one day to the next. You might have to feel some of the crappy emotions to also feel the happy ones but the happy ones are worth it!
When was the last time you really felt something, anything?
Begin to trust yourself more. Make yourself vulnerable. Trust that the more your feel, the better you’ll feel.
As Sri Pattabhi Jois said, ‘Do your practice and all is coming.’
Nice saying at the beginning, Emma – is it yours ? I lost something good last year and moved onto something new, hope it will turn out better.
I heard it somewhere – not mine but I like it! Whatever is lost is lost for a reason. There is always opportunity to learn and grow and something better will always appear when you are ready 🙂
