Some important questions to continually reflect on:
Can you be kind: to yourself, and others?
Can you suspend your judgement: of yourself and others?
Can you keep reaching for grace and love, whilst honouring all the other feelings?
Can you show your heart, even if others don’t choose to show theirs?
Can you stay faithful to your ability to not just survive, but thrive, despite what old thinking patterns might be showing you now?
Kindness is very subjective. Sometimes doing the ‘kind thing’ doesn’t always elicit the response that you desire, but if your intention is from the right place then you can only satisfy yourself that you have done the right thing by yourself.
I recently had to confront a friend about his behaviour and the impact that it was having on me. This has resulted in him no longer wishing to be friends. As regrettable as this is, the issue between us couldn’t carry on, as it was significantly damaging my own mental health.
I have left the door to our friendship open and it is now over to him to decide if he wishes to come back at any time. I have set the intention to show empathy and love to this friend no matter what.
