It’s the hardest and the easiest thing in the world to do. ‘Just let it go.’
We get told over and over again (well, those of us who have a tendency to be just a tad neurotic about things) that our lives would be so much simpler if we could just let it go but for most of us it just really isn’t that simple.
Over the past couple of months I’ve gone on a huge journey of personal growth but kept gettng caught back up in a circle of needing to do more, needing to fix things, needing to be somewhere. It was exhausting and sometimes I felt like I was on a treadmill about to roll off the end in great comical fashion.
The thing that changed for me? A growing sense of calm and trust in myself, and in the Universe. I know, I know, it sounds super corny and woo woo, but since rediscovering A Course in Miracles a few months ago, and recommiting to diverting my thoughts from fear and anxiety to love.
There’s no magic potion for this I’m afraid. It’s an on-going, daily and moment by moment journey to love. But that’s what’s so easy. It’s just one moment at a time. You get to take all the pressure off yourself and know that the ONLY thing you need to do is be mindful about where your thoughts and feelings are going and in the moment you feel anything but loving thoughts and feelings, ask to be guided back to love.
I should point out here that I don’t mean romantic love or woo woo love. When I say love, I really mean a respect and appreciate of us all as energetic beings, all being interconnected and part of the same universe.
It doesn’t have to be as difficult as we make it. Learning to let go is simply that – a decision to let go of the tools, techniques, processes and methods we use and just BE, being mindful and continually bringing ourselves back to love.
