Ho’oponopono is an Hawaiian healing practice, based on the principle that we are 100% responsible for everything that appears in our lives. This doesn’t mean we consciously chose it, but it allows us to take back control and heal it (it is an empowering message).
Once we accept that we are the common denominator in all our experiences we can then begin to use the Ho’oponopono prayer statement to ‘clean’ or release the memories which cause discomfort.
Any time you feel less than peaceful, you can say the phrase: I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you. You are saying this to yourself or your higher self more than anyone else. I love you (yourself), I’m sorry (because I don’t like what I’m experiencing and taking 100% responsibility for it), Please forgive me (let me release and heal these thoughts, feelings and beliefs), Thank you (gratitude for healing the discomfort).
This is a very subtle tool, and one which requires practice and repetition to see results with, but having practised myself the last couple of months I can say I’ve noticed a shift in my energy. Deeper stuff is clearing and becoming unstuck. In any case it’s a good compassion practice!
