Sometimes we choose to stay in our pain. That’s OK.

Sometimes, there’s a wounded part within us that believes we deserve to feel bad, or that continuing to feel bad gives validity to our initial upset. If we were to suddenly feel better, would we invalidate our previous feelings and upset?

We do not have to stay in our pain to prove a point to ourselves. Nor do we have to ‘get over it’ to prove our self-love and growth mindset. We get to choose how we feel, and we get to own our decision for whatever reason we made it. Maybe we’re not done with experiencing and honouring our feelings yet. Maybe we want to be acknowledged and validated in our upset (can we do that for ourselves?). Maybe we’re tired, and wish someone would help us.

Honour how you feel. Honour what you need. Give that to yourself.
